Quote:
Today’s housing finance data surprised on the downside, falling 3.0% in April to be 14.2% lower over the year. The monthly drop was much larger than the median expectation of -1.9% and comes after very sharp declines in the last two months, of 5.7% and 7.4%. Meanwhile, although the value of investment loans improved in the month, by 1.4%, it follows significant falls, averaging 7.9% per month, in February and March and is still sharply lower over the year, by 6.8%.

I'm surprised by their tentative prediction of a rate hike in August...
