Back-to-base Alarm

Definition:

A house alarm system that actually calls back to a monitoring station who will send a security team around if your alarm is activated.

Note that this generally requires an additional phone line to be installed into your house - and these lines are usually not compatible with other phone-line based products such as ADSL.
