shortlist of good flexible bank accounts

Whats a good list of banks that provide a good mortgage with 100% offset account, and low or no fees.

My mortgage broker is keen on ING bank accounts (he must be getting a good trailing commission) but I dont think ING has an offset account for any of their loans.

For debt recycling (a la topcats great posts) can anyone see any issues with the following loan products?

B&E topline account with mortage offset account

Professional Package - AMP again with an offset account.

loan amount would be in the range of $237500 to $256500.

voigstr, how accessible are these 2 banks?
I don't see a lot of merit in banks that would be hard to access. Or that will charge you to access funds in Offset through ATM's - I've never seen AMP or B&E ATM's Although I do identify that B&E is tassie based.

I would recommend Suncorp, as I am a fan and a customer and a shareholder and a former staff member. But they really only specialise in QLD and I feel they don't yet have the exposure nationwide. So prob no good in Tassie.

Go with somewhere you feel is accessible, fees are fair and they are big enough to provide security.

I've had friends who ended up with ING, BankWest and Adelaide Bank (while living here in NQ). When something went wrong, they couldn't go to a branch, they had to wait 2-3 days for transfers and ended up being sick to death of calling call-centres...

suncorp

voigstr, im with suncorp on both of my home loans. both are 'back to basics' loans which i have found to be good. for memory they do say that offset accounts are avaliable at a charge of $5 per month, however i have yet to pay that on either of mine! all the normal options

as to accessibility, check outside work on macquarie street

Thanks Eros, I'll check them out. We aren't quite at the stage of buying another house, we are still finalising paperwork on the LOC. We also transfered the loan and title from my name to both my and wife and I, tenants in common 50% split each (will review that from time to time, specially if she starts earning way more than me)

re Suncorp, if I want an offset account, wouldn't I need Suncorp - Variable Rate Home Loan

back to basics loan states that it doesnt have an offset account, Back to Basics Home Loan : Suncorp : Home Loans, Discounted variable rate : Australia

Not quite - B2B is a basic facility. No Offset, and no free Cashback/Redraw option, unless done online to a Suncorp Transaction account.
