Track your banknotes as they travel across Australia

Just came across this cool site ... The Money Tracker - Track banknotes as they travel across Australia

You enter the serial number of the banknote, and then if that same serial number is added again by someone else in the future, the system will track it.

It does depend on a lot of people using the system, but it's kind of neat - and it would be interesting to see where the notes end up.

There was a site with a very similar concept I heard of a few years ago but with books. When you read a book you left it somewhere public for someone else to pickup and it had a note in it that basically said read it and log it with where you picked it up and it traced the books all over the world. It was really interested. It would be fun to see what happened with money.
