Wasn't a search engine slurp was it?... Sorry, probably was genuine users which can only bode well for the site.

And I thought your post was going to be about the ASX closing at a new record! Up another 25 odd points today pushing the All Ords over 4800 and the XJO to 4860 odd. The XJO is now up over 10% since I bought in on the 14/10/05. Happy days...

Cool,
Michael.

There's almost always a few spiders/bots/slurps/crawlers/etc on the site, however we have seen an increasing number of people on the site in the last week or so anyway. Seems like more and more people are coming back from holidays and are able to surf the web from work again !

I take offence to being known as a crawler, bot or spider..... but slurp?!!!!
Is that a genuine term, Sim, or something you made up?
Makes me sound like some type of of crushed ice drink from 7-Eleven

They are all synonyms for an application which visits each link found on a web page and indexes the contents of the page for search engines to use.

Web crawlers, web bots (robots), web spiders, web slurpers, etc.

Crawlers we've had on our site so far this month: Googlebot, MSNBot, GigaBot, Inktomi Slurp (this is what Yahoo uses), The Web Wombat, MSIECrawler, Alexa (IA Archiver), plus a few others. Google, MSN and Yahoo (Inktomi) generally are the busiest and most effective.
